COTTON HOUSE HOTEL BARCELONA
If there's one thing that will draw me to a hotel when looking to book a trip away is a beautifully designed interior. Cotton House Hotel in Barcelona does that. Housed in a 19th century former headquarters of the Cotton Textile Foundation “Fundación Textil Algodonera”, there's a real mix of beautiful neoclassical design with pops of beautiful rich tones, highlighted through textures in velvet chairs, leather and wicker.

Original elements of the building have been conserved, such as the imposing marble staircase, delicate parquet and boiserie embellishing ceilings, floors and walls in some of the rooms. The famous spiral staircase built in 1957, is suspended from the metal frame of the upper floor, to give a light and airy aspect.

I'm not sure if it's the greenery, the shutters or the design of the chairs, but the picture below gives me a real feel of traditional Indian interiors - think The Hundred Foot Journey.

If you're considering a weekend away, I'd definitely recommend looking at the Cotton House Hotel, just for the beauty of the interior alone. Plus, who doesn't love a roof terrace pool?
